Dr. Hyunsoo Kim, assistant professor of physics, works on dilution refrigerator that is used to conduct research in temperatures near absolute zero, which is required to investigate the quantum mechanical properties of materials such as superconductors. This low-temperature instrument is an essential tool for quantum computing utilizing superconducting circuits.
