Rivers, forested hills and bubbling springs are all part of the natural appeal of the Ozarks. For 140+ years, S&T students have enjoyed float trips, hiking, biking and jogging the trails and national parks around Rolla.

Community members are very supportive of the university and its students. S&T students are welcome at all city events and have full access to all city services. Historic downtown borders campus. Local cafes and restaurants are known for pie, pizza and sushi.

Rolla's bustling downtown business district is adjacent to campus. Route 66 runs right through town. Community events, campus activities and locally-owned restaurants, pubs, theaters, coffee shops, bookstores, pizza parlors and wineries provide a great diversion from studying.
